Bottomless bin

A fulfillment approach for high-frequency, low-value items where a supplier keeps a buyer's on-site inventory automatically replenished, without the buyer needing to place a specific reorder.

The term describes a class of product where the friction of ordering costs more than the product itself: fasteners, small hardware, or consumables a buyer uses constantly but never wants to specifically reorder. Master B2B’s long-tail research frames the bottomless bin as the fulfillment-side counterpart to the endless aisle: where endless aisle is about making rarely-ordered products available, bottomless bin is about removing the ordering step entirely for constantly-ordered ones, typically through vendor-managed inventory or automatic replenishment triggered by sensors or usage data rather than a manual purchase order.
